Tips For Selecting The Best Footwear For

Your Wedding

All of the stunning wedding attire, latest jewelry, perfect makeup, a spellbinding hairstyle is not enough to make your dream day a special one. Your footwear has the power to make or break your day, so choose it wisely to ensure you’ll be both comfortable and stylish at your wedding.
Brides often forget to take proper care while selecting the perfect wedding footwear. We understand that there are a number of to-do’s on your wedding checklist but unless you select the right footwear, it is most likely that your day will end up with sore feet! Shoes that are uncomfortable, unflattering, or downright painful may land you in trouble and spoil your day. Hereare some simple tips to help the ‘would-be bride’ to select the perfect wedding footwear and make her feet happy:

Comfort is key

Your wedding day will demand long hours of standing (including posing for photographers or thanking the guests!). Thus, the very first thing to consider while choosing the footwear is the comfort factor. You can be bright, beautiful and energetic only when you are entirely comfortable. If your shoes are hurting your feet, it will show on your face. So, make no compromise with the comfort factor even if you need to compromise on the style!

The length of outfit vs. shoes

We generally choose the outfit and then go for the footwear. This is wise as you can make the perfect choice for shoes after you have your bridal dress. The length of your outfit is going to play a major role in choosing the shoes. Heavy work and embellishments at the bottom of your lehenga will require you to buy less embellished shoes (as they may get entangled while you walk). Extra long garments will enable you to wear high heels while you will need to go for flats if the outfit length is not too long.

Consider the wedding venue

Your wedding venue is going to be a determining factor in choosing the footwear. If you are having a farmhouse wedding (this means you will have to walk on grass) just say no to pencil heels. Similarly, a beach themed wedding will make you uncomfortable with bulky heels. Keep the venue in mind while choosing your shoes.

Go for several trials

Do not keep your wedding shoes packed up in the box till the wedding day. New shoes are always uncomfortable in the beginning and you can even suffer from shoe bites. Make sure to wear your shoes for a few hours every day (inside the house) so that they fit with the shape of your feet.

Be safe with a spare pair

Keeping a spare pair of shoes will be the wisest thing to avoid a mishap. You really don’t need to buy an identical pair; simple gold or silver pair of shoes will be enough for this purpose. If everything goes fine, you can use those neutral colors for any other occasion and if you really need them, they will match perfectly with your wedding outfit as well.
